Zero 7 - In The Waiting Line

얼마 전 케이블에서 본 크리미널 마인드 S07 E12에서 리드가 이런 내용의 말을 했다.

인간은 14세에 들은 음악의 쟝르를 평생 듣는다던가 좋아한다던가...... (다시 재방송하면 확인해 봐야지. IMDB의 quote에는 없었다.)

여하튼 그 이론에 의거하면 지금까지 내가 제일 좋아하는 음악들은 대부분 일렉트로니카 계열이라는 운명의 데스티니;

각설하고, 이 음악은 섹스앤더시티 S06 E11 The Domino Effect의 맨 마지막 장면에 나온다. 이 에피에서는 빅이 심장 수술을 받으러 나파 밸리에서 뉴욕에 왔고, 캐리는 그를 위해 캔디걸 코스프레를 하다가, 예전부터 알고 있었지만 다시 한 번 새삼스럽게 빅의 실체(?)에 대해서 깨달으며, 미란다와 로버트와 스티브와 그의 여친은 탐폰이 포함된 4자 대면을 했고, 사만다는 스미스가 손을 잡아서 멘붕되었으며(부상까지 입었으니 멘붕뿐 아니라 바디붕괴도), 샬롯은 중국한의사에게 가서 불임치료를 받다 깨달음;을 얻었다.

그런데, 이 음악은 CSI에서도 등장했었다. 내 기억으로는 사운드트랙에도 수록되어 있어서 재빨리 검색해 보았더니 Zero 7의 다른 노래 Give it away만 OST에 실려 있었고, 이 음악은 CSI LV 어느 에피소드의 삽입곡이라는 사실만 있을 뿐, 에피소드는 나와있지 않다. 인상깊은 장면이나 음악이나 대사가 있으면 그 때 그 때 적어 놓았어야 했는데 망할 기억력과 귀차니즘 ㅜㅜ

몽환적인 멜로디와 허무한 분위기의 가사가 두 미드와도 잘 어울린다.

그런데(2), 검색 결과를 보니 하우스 3시즌 외에도 몇 개 미드에 더 나왔네.

Zero 7의 다른 음악들 역시 여러 미드에 등장했던 것으로 봐서 당시 Zero 7이 인기가 좀 있었던 것 같다. 레조넌스에서도 몇 번 나왔었고 기타 라디오 프로그램에서도 심심치 않게 나왔었지.

나중에 잉여력이 되면 우선 섹스앤더시티 음악만 정리해 볼까 하는데(Irma까지 포함해서) 귀찮아서 실행에 옮길 지는 모르겠다. 섹스앤더시티, 콜드케이스, 앨리 맥빌, 루터 등 OST가 좋은 드라마가  몇 개 있다. 로앤오덕에 음악이 거의 없는 게 다행일지도.
